Serviette Holder

This has been the most difficult thing to find, a serviette holder. And now I have it and the search is finally over. I had to dig my serviette storage to find out how different kinds of serviettes will look on it. Conclusion, long ones looks so much better than square ones. Christmas is on its way and because of that the tablecloth is, of course, very Christmassy and there are Polkagris candy inside the old glass jar.

...And Then There Was Light

Now that the snow and the freezing temperatures has finally arrived I thought it would be a great time to post a post about candles. Originally it was not me who was lighting all the candles in our place, it was my man! I don't know what it was but I think I was a little bit afraid of candles. Well no, not the candles but theirs furious flame. But then I understood that the candles will not burn your house down if you will check that there are no flammable things near the flame (common sense you know!) And then there was light. Enjoy the candlelight (and those other light bringing things)!

Let It Shine

My latest found is this candle holder. It was a very tarnished but I managed to clean it and now it shines beautifully. I couldn't even dream to find anything like this, so lucky me!

Now the only problem is the color of the candles I should bought.. Something like light blue or what.. Well actually, in this point of winter when there is no snow on the ground, the only thing that matters is the light which the candles will bring to this dark dark weather..

The Sun Also Rises in Snow Country

I have started a new hobby, reading that is. Finally I managed to find some time just for me and read the  Papillon. A huge story of a prisoner Henri Charriere a.ka. Papillon. Unbelievable story, and almost felt like I was one of his fellow mates. After finishing that amazing story I realized I needed more experiences like that. And of I went to the library and found Ernest Hemingway's Farewell to Arms, J.D. Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye and Yasunari Kawabata's Snow Country. No wonder why these books are classics! And now I will start to read The Sun Also Rises by Hemingway..

Do You Hear the Drums?

Or what do you think? It was love at first sight, the drum was for sale in our local antique shop and it was not even priced yet and I almost ran to the sales lady and asked for the price. That was a one scary moment as she went thru some papers. Has it already been sold or was the price too high? Lucky me, the price was truly OK to me! My husband was a pretty amazed when I carried my latest found at home! Kids are really enjoying themselves by playing the drum, and so do I! Hopefully our neighbours don't mind the noice.. I'm sure that these walls won't block the beat away.

Here I am about to leave to a graduation parties (my husbands two cousins at the same time). Weather was wonderful as always here in Finland, so I could'n even dream to let my hairs to be open, so I tight them up so no wind or rain could ruin my hair. I love that shirt, it covers and it reveals, lace sleeves and pretty bow tie at the waist. Pleated skirt is something I had for years ago, I think this is the third time I wear it.

Last weekend there were a few hours sun shine without a rain. Awesome meeting was nearby us and we went to see some pretty cool rods, event was the16th European Steer Rod Nationals here in Finland. Here's a few pics from there.

I have time to decorate inside the house because this summer sucks. Rain, rain, thunder, rain and rain! And I'm on holiday, so the weather makes me feel bored. I want go out and enjoy the summer, but maybe next year.. Uups, thunder starts again, got to go!

Angry Birds Fans

Fun day at the Särkänniemi and the Angry Birds Land. Such a nice place to spend any free time, kids loved it so much that we spent there almost six hours. Even I had a change to go in those rides and for free with our daughter.
And as you can see, I'm blonde again! It was very nice one year as a brunette, but that was enough for me.

I can fit (finally!) my 2006 jeans! Wohoo!

And my hair is getting darker and darker, soon it is time to go to a lighter version, maybe, well, haven't decide that yet. It's so damn cold outside so it's hard to think anything else than how to stay warm. Our fireplace is awesome, I'm almost melting when I'm near that wonderful warmth.. Again, it's time for me to start waiting spring and all that greenness, oh well...
